Safety Centre

Looking for a life partner should never cost you your safety. This page is the short version of everything we know about staying safe here — please read it before you meet anyone, and share it with your family.

MEETING SOMEONE FOR THE FIRST TIME

Take your time. There is no good reason for anyone to rush you. Tell your family exactly where you are going, who you are meeting and when you will be back. Share their profile ID with someone at home. Meet in a busy public place — a restaurant, a hotel lobby, a coffee shop. Never a home, a hotel room, an empty office, or an isolated spot, however respectable it sounds. Arrange your own travel, both ways. Do not let someone pick you up or drop you home the first few times. Keep your phone charged, and keep a family member on call. For the first meetings, take a parent, a sibling or a friend with you. In our community that is normal, not rude. If anything feels wrong, leave. You never owe anyone an explanation for leaving.

VERIFYING WHO SOMEONE SAYS THEY ARE

We check every profile before it goes live, and members can add ID, photo, income and community verification badges. Those badges mean a real person on our team checked a document — they are worth looking for. What we do NOT do is a background check. Nobody can. Before you commit to anything, confirm the things that matter yourself: their job and workplace, their education, their income, their marital status, and their family. Ask for a video call before meeting. Someone who will never show their face on video, always has a broken camera, or only ever sends photos is telling you something. Search their name and photo online. A photo that belongs to someone else usually shows up. Names, ages and jobs are easy to type. Meeting the family is hard to fake.

MONEY: THE ONE RULE THAT NEVER CHANGES NEVER SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU MET HERE. Not a loan, not a deposit, not "just this once", not to a family member of theirs, not to a hospital, not for a visa, a customs fee, a stuck parcel, a business emergency, an army posting, or a medical bill. No genuine marriage proposal begins with a bank transfer. Never share your bank details, UPI PIN, card number, OTP or passwords. We will never ask you for them, and neither will any real member. Be careful of anyone who wants to move the conversation off this platform very quickly, who professes love within days, who is always abroad or "on a ship" or "posted at the border", or who asks you to invest in trading, crypto or a scheme. Watch for pressure and urgency: a real match will still be there tomorrow. A scammer needs you to act tonight. If anyone asks you for money, do not argue and do not pay. Stop replying, and report them here immediately — you may save the next person too.

YOUR PHOTOS AND YOUR PRIVACY

Your photos are never public. Only registered, admin-approved members can see them, and you can hide them until you choose to share. Your phone number is never on your profile. It is shared only when you approve a contact request. You can require that only verified members are allowed to request your contact — turn it on in Account → Privacy. It is free. Do not post photos showing your house number, your street, your workplace ID, your car number plate or your children. Do not send private or intimate photographs to anyone, ever, however long you have been talking. This is how blackmail starts. Keep other members' details private too — do not forward their photos or numbers to groups or social media.

BLOCKING AND REPORTING

Every profile has a Block option and a Report option, on the profile itself and on any request they send you. Blocking is instant, free and completely private — the other member is not told, and they immediately disappear from your searches and yours from theirs. Reporting sends the profile to our review team. The person you report is never told who reported them. Report anyone who asks for money, sends abusive, sexual or threatening messages, seems to be using someone else's photos, lies about being married, or will not accept "no". You do not need proof — tell us and let us look. You do not have to be polite to someone who is frightening you. Block first, explain never.

IF SOMETHING HAS ALREADY GONE WRONG

Tell someone in your family today. Blackmail and fraud work on silence, and none of this is your fault. Do not pay. Paying a blackmailer buys nothing and marks you as someone who pays. Save the evidence — screenshots, phone numbers, UPI IDs, transaction references — before you block anyone. Report the profile to us so we can remove them and warn others.

EMERGENCY AND OFFICIAL HELP IN INDIA

Immediate danger — police, ambulance, fire: dial 112. Women's helpline: 181. Available across India, day and night. Cyber crime, online fraud, blackmail or obscene content: report at cybercrime.gov.in. Financial fraud — call within 24 hours to have a chance of freezing the money: 1930. These numbers are free. Use them before you decide whether something is "serious enough".
